For an
explanation of these days, write for my booklet, “Yahweh’s
Holy Days vs. Man’s Holidays” It explains Yahweh’s Plan of
Salvation which is based on the agricultural harvest seasons in
the land of Israel, and shows that most of the holidays and
festivals celebrated by the world in general, and Christians in
particular, are not based on Scripture but have pagan roots.
This and other booklets are free to you because of the
generosity of others. Write for our newly revised list of
available literature ~
Also,
If you are confined and cannot attend a Feast site, write
for an article titled, “How to Keep Yahweh’s Annual Festivals
when You Cannot Meet with Others,” and use it as a guide. It
explains what these days mean in Yahweh’s Plan of Salvation, and
tells you what to do and what to study that is relevant to that
particular day or Festival.
But be
sure
that you really cannot physically obey Yahweh’s command in
Deuteronomy 16:16, which says, “Three
times in a year shall all thy males appear before Yahweh thy
Elohim in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of
unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of
tabernacles“
Some
think they might have difficulty getting time off from their
job, or have other reasons for not attending a Feast site,
thinking they can keep them at home just as well. But Deut
12:17-18 and Deut 16:1-17 speaks against this idea. The Apostles
said “We should obey Yahweh rather than men.”
I
personally have lost at least one job because my request for
time off was denied, although it had been promised the year
before when I went to work there (in 1967, Whirlpool Purchasing
Dep’t., Fort Smith, AR). I considered my obedience to Yahweh
more important than the job.
Others
take a different view, and do keep the High Sabbaths with
others, but then work on the intervening non-holy days. I do not
judge those who do this. We are each responsible for our own
salvation; we should not judge another man’s servant (Rom.
14:4). ~
