The basis of fellowship should be a sincere desire to seek and practice the Truth revealed to us by the Creator. Many Statements of Belief have been made by various assemblies, groups, etc., only to be used by some as a justification for contention and/or division. Many have "boxed themselves in" by attempts to state more than the Scriptures clearly reveal, or to "interpret" various passages. We are told not to add to or take away from what the Most High has given in His Word. One purpose of a "Statement of Beliefs" is so that we may assemble with those of like faith, and another is so that we may have a coherent answer when asked, "What do you believe?" Coming to unity can be a life-long process and any requirement that such agreement (especially doctrinal agreement) is a prerequisite for meeting in the first place, would obviously be counterproductive. With that said, here is a consensus of what most of us believe, subject to modification as more light is shed on us in our search for Truth:

We are dedicated to the furtherance of the Gospel of Yahshua the Messiah, Who was (and is) the Son of the Almighty One, Yahweh. Insofar as is possible, we teach and uphold the original, inspired Scriptures, realizing that all translations are only copies, and do have some errors, most of which are known.

The Word - The foundation and basis of the Assembly of Yahweh is that expressed in Isaiah. 8:20, "To the law and to the testimony…" To this standard all beliefs, creeds, and practices must be measured.  Ex. 20:1-17; Deut. 4:2; II Tim. 3:16; Ps. 19:7,8; 119:11,89,105,142,151; II Pet. 1:21.                                 

The Creator communicates with mankind through His Word, thus His created beings should study the Scriptures daily, to know their Heavenly Father's will.  II Tim. 2:15; Acts 17:11;  Ps. 40:8;  Ps. 1:1-3.

We restore His Holy Name, which most scholars and the Jews agree is "Yahweh," and His Son's Name, which is Yahshua.Yahweh's Name has been removed and replaced with substitute titles, such as "the LORD" and "GOD", a total of approximately 7,000 times in the Old Testament alone. Yahshua, commonly and mistakenly called "Jesus" in most English Bibles, had the same name as Moses' assistant during the Exodus, the Old Testament "Joshua." There is no letter "J" in either the Hebrew or Greek languages; all "J's" in Scripture take the "Y" sound, as in "HalleluJAH," which means, "Praise Ye Yah!" (See Psalm 68.4, King James Version).

In our worship, we recognize and keep the Biblical Seventh Day Sabbath, and observe His Annual Holy Days as listed in Leviticus 23 and other places. We believe that sin is the breaking of His eternal moral law (1 John 3:4), which is the Ten Commandments. We believe that Yahshua died as atonement for our sins. By repenting, being baptized, and accepting His sacrifice, we can then receive His Holy Spirit, which is necessary for salvation (Romans 3:23; 6:23; Acts 2:38; 5:32). This is how the "Law" is written in our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33 and Hebrews 8:10). We thus become good and profitable servants, by doing His will.

Baptism - The scriptures declare water immersion in the Name of Yahshua the Messiah to be the ceremony by which we enter into the New Covenant with our Savior.  Matt. 3:13-16; Mark 16:16; John 3:23; Acts 2:38-41; Acts 8:36-39; Acts 10:48; Acts 19:1-5; Rom. 6:1-5; Eph. 4:4-5; Col. 2:11-12. Baptism is to be administered to those who have repented of all known sins, and have decided to obey the laws of Yahweh; have accepted Yahshua as their personal Savior, and as far as lies within their power, have made right any wrongs they have committed against Yahweh and their fellow man. Matt. 28:19-20; Luke 3:12-14; Luke 19:1-10; Acts 2:37-38; Rom. 6:1-11; Phil. 4:13; Psa. 40:8.                                    

We observe the clean food laws given in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14. These laws are confirmed in the New Testament, first in Acts 10 by the Apostle Peter, then again in 1Timothy 4:1-5, where the Apostle Paul speaks of meats which Yahweh "hath created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth." In verse 5, he says it is sanctified by the Word of Yahweh and prayer. Where is it "sanctified?" In the above referenced Old Testament scriptures (Lev. 11 and Deut. 14). ["Sanctified" means to be set apart for a holy use.]

Temperance - Things harmful to the body or mind such as tobacco products, excessive alcohol use,  certain drugs, "junk foods" and unclean meats are hurtful lusts which harm the soul and should be put away before baptism. The satisfying of worldly lusts is inappropriate for those committed to serving Yahweh. We must keep our minds and bodies pure if Yahweh's Holy Spirit is to dwell there. I Cor. 3:16-17; I Cor. 6:19-20; I Cor. 10:31; I Tim. 6:9; Lev. 3:17.

Modesty - Extravagant, immodest dress and decorum is inappropriate for believers in the Messiah Yahshua  (I Tim. 2:9; I Pet. 3:1-4; Rev. 17:1,4; 12:1). We should dress with modesty, simplicity and righteousness, symbolized by the white linen garments worn by the High Priest on the Day of Atonement.  Lev. 16:2,4; Rev. 19:7,8; Isa. 3:13-26. 

Assembly Order - Yahshua gives different spiritual gifts and duties to the various members for the upbuilding of His Assembly. I Cor. 12:4-31; Eph. 4:8-13; I Tim. 3:1-16; I Cor. 14:1-40;   I Tim. 2:11-15.

    Yahweh ordained that the Levitical Priesthood be sustained by tithes and offerings (Num. 18:20-24). The priesthood was changed (Heb. 7:11-12), but the principle of supporting His assemblies remains the same.  Mal. 3:8-9; Gen.14:18-20;  Deut. 14:22-29;  16:16,17;  Matt. 23:23;  I Cor. 9:7-14.

We believe that man IS a living soul, not that he HAS an immortal soul. When we die, we rest in our graves until the resurrection, when we will be granted eternal life with a spirit body. The first resurrection is the resurrection of the Just. They will rule and reign with the Messiah for 1,000 years on this earth. The "rest of the dead" (Rev. 20:5) will be resurrected at the end of the 1,000 year period. These are those who either never heard the message of salvation, or heard a false "gospel" during their lifetimes. They never had saving knowledge, and will be taught after they are resurrected, then given an opportunity for salvation (Rev. 20:all, especially verses 11-15). Those who will not repent will be cast into the lake of fire, where they will be destroyed for all eternity. The idea of an immortal soul that flits off to heaven "to be with the LORD" or to hell at death is not scriptural. This and many other doctrines held by most Christians comes from the ancient Babylonian mystery religions, and not from the Bible.

We believe we have, firstly, a commission to "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling" (Phil. 2:12). Although salvation is a free gift (Rom. 6:23), we do have our part to do (Mat. 19:17, Acts 5:32, Heb. 5:9), thus becoming good servants of the Master.

And, secondly, we have a commission to proclaim the Good News to all who will hear (Mat. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-49), and to "feed the flock," those who respond to His message (1 Peter 5).

This is not an exhaustive list. We must be open to truth as it is revealed to us, be willing to change and put away error when discovered. We stand admonished to "prove all things; hold fast that which is good."  ~<>~
